Some small updates to your mail.com app make it even better to use!

Updates in your mail.com mobile apps for Android and iOS

1. Suggested recipients

You may have already noticed a small but significant improvement when addressing emails: As soon as you start typing an email address in the recipient field, your mail.com app automatically suggests contacts from your mail.com address book or the names of people to whom you have already sent emails. Just tap a suggested address to add to the “To” field. This not only saves you time, but saves you from typos as well!

2. Write to contact groups

If you have saved contact groups in your mail.com address book, they will also be suggested in the “To” field when you start to type the group name. So go ahead and write to your “Ultimate Frisbee” group – without having to select the address of each and every member.

3. Handling multiple mail accounts in iOS

This one is just for all you iPhone users out there! Many of you have multiple accounts with mail.com and toggle between them in the app settings. Good news! There are now two easy ways to switch between your emails without leaving your inbox:
  • Long press: Put your finger on the Mail icon at the bottom left of the screen and hold it down. This “long press” opens a list of your mail accounts. Select the inbox you’d like to go to by tapping on the email address in that list
  • Double tap: You can also quickly switch back to the inbox of the most recent account you had open by double-tapping on the Mail icon at the bottom left of the screen.

If you’d like to switch between your accounts in the mail.com mobile app for Android, you can toggle between them in the Email menu. Or select the Unified inbox setting to see all your emails in one place!

 4. Use iOS map function

Another improvement for users of our iOS app: If someone sends you an address in an email, it now appears as an underlined link. This means you can view the location on any of the map apps on your iPhone. How does it work? Tap the address link, and a list of your installed map applications will appear (Apple Maps, Google Maps, etc.). Next, tap the app you’d like to use – and it will open showing the selected location. Alternatively, you can hold your finger on the link for a moment (long press) to open a map preview and a menu from your default map app. Now you can get directions or navigate to the address!
